Our Story

In the summer of 2014, my husband was deployed. Though I was working full time, I was in desperate need of a hobby and stress break. I stumbled across some amazing woodworking blogs and my love and creativity blossomed. I started following plans and building furniture. Friends started coming out to the garage for "build days" and my love was spreading.

After our first kiddo, my husband encouraged me to find a passion outside of being a mom. From my love of creating, his confidence, and being a part of a wonderful community that supports small business and military families, Maddox Avenue was born.

Maddox Avenue is named after my sweet pup who would lay in sun while I would build. Now, as a mom to two, my little ones join him watching me work. I love being with them every day and that they get to watch me create, build, and grow as a person.

As a small business owner, there have been so many moments along the way that brought joy and reminded me why I do this. From reconnecting with a customer two years later and hearing that she still loves her custom nursery signs we created together, building a batch of kits so that a customer's daughter could "design" her own bedroom decor, to making a sign for a friend to commemorate her 2nd little's birth–everybody that she loves was able to leave a message for him on it! I am honored to be a part of your special moments.
